Whois Privacy Protection, occasionally also called Privacy or Whois Privacy Protection, is a service that conceals the real contact information of domain name owners on WHOIS check web sites. Without protection, the name, address and email of any domain registrant will be openly accessible. Giving fake info during the domain name registration process or changing the real info afterwards will just not work, as doing such a thing may result in the domain registrant losing his/her ownership rights. The policies approved by ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, require that the WHOIS details must be correct and accurate all the time. The Whois Privacy Protection service was introduced by registrar companies as a response to the arising concerns about possible identity theft. If the service is enabled, the registrar’s contact details will be shown instead of the registrant’s upon a WHOIS check. Most domains support the Whois Privacy Protection service, although there are some country-code extensions that do not.

Linux shared hosting from us and you have registered one or more domains under your account, you will be able to enable Whois Privacy Protection for any of them without effort and to keep your private details secure. Of course, this will be possible only with the extensions that support this option. In your Hepsia Control Panel, you will find an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign to the right of each of your domain names. Its color will show you if a domain name is Whois Privacy Protected or not and in the second case, you can enable Whois Privacy Protection with only several clicks. Thus, you can shield your private details even if you haven’t activated the service during the registration procedure. You will be able to renew or to disable the Whois Privacy Protection service for any of your domains just as easily.

Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you want to conceal the contact info for your domain and you’ve got a
semi-dedicated server account with us, you’ll be able to activate our Whois Privacy Protection service either during the account order process or at any time later through your Hepsia Control Panel. This service is optional and can be enabled with a few clicks of the mouse from the Registered Domains section of the Control Panel where all the domains that you’ve registered through us will be listed alphabetically. You can order Whois Privacy Protection for any of the extensions that support this service by simply clicking the “Whois Privacy Protection” sign next to each domain. In the same way, you can also renew the service or turn it off – if you would like to transfer a domain name to another domain registrar and you need the real mailbox associated with the domain name to be visible.
