A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get messages from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux cloud plan with our company and you want to activate the catch-all feature for a certain email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally just one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
